town center construction update

Construction Update - July 15th

Drainage work continues this week to approximately house no. 527 on the Post Road. Work is in and near the intersection of Concord Road and traffic is impacted during the commute. Boston Post Road will continue to be reduced to a single lane for traffic in the work area and police detail will be on site at all times to assist people into businesses and in and out of residences.

Crews are anticipated to move to the Town Green this week to begin drainage work on the west side of the Green and then move west down the Post Road towards no. 483. See the three-week look ahead for anticipated days.

The work on the Town Green is not expected to interfere with the Concert on the Green on Wednesday. The work area will be fenced off after hours.

Access to homes and businesses will always be maintained

Detour - Traffic Management Plan

Work will begin at 7:00 a.m. and generally conclude around 3:00 p.m., though some days may go a bit longer.

Police detail is on site to direct traffic. At times, when work dictates, the one-way direction of Fiske Lane will be reversed to accommodate traffic heading west. Watch for posted signs in the vicinity.

The 12 parking spaces along Fiske Park are closed temporarily. As work continues down Boston Post Road, street parking will be closed during work hours. Pedestrian access to businesses will be maintained since work is "between the curbs."

NO PARKING signs will be posted 24-hours in advance of road work. We ask that you take notice of these signs and to refrain from parking in these areas during the posted hours.

Tree protection has been installed around the trees located in the planned construction area.

Tree trimming is also anticipated to occur mid to late July. The project's landscape architect will be on site during this process to ensure the health of the trees is protected.
