Administration/Engineering Division

Paving and Roadwork

• Brown Street Sidewalk Project - construction is ongoing with the overhead utility wires being relocated to new poles on Winter Street, then the old poles will be removed. Comcast and then Verizon;
• North Avenue Roadway Resurfacing Work – Additional pavement markings work required at Lexington Street intersection.  Final pavement markings work anticipated to be completed in summer 2017.  Remaining work will include seeding and final cleanup in the spring/summer 2017; 
• Love Lane and Highland Street resurface work - project began on May 15th with the final paving completed on June 29 and 30th.  Final landscaping and cleanup over the next several weeks. 
• Sudbury Road resurfacing work -  coordinating the project with the towns of Wayland and Lincoln.  Anticipate preliminary work (rock removal, erosion control, etc.), reclamation work, binder pavement installation, final paving work to take 5-10 weeks, weather dependent, beginning July 2017. Similar roadway reconstruction work will take place on Ripley Lane during that same period. The reclamation work is anticipated to start the week of July 24th.
• Additional roadway reconstruction work is anticipated to take place later this summer, but the schedule is driven by other work that needs to occur first.  Projects include Fairview Road drainage work; Viles Street gas main work; and Locust Road gas main work.  
• Drainage designs and necessary easements work continue for Newton Street, which needs to occur before roadway work can be planned.  
• The Merriam Street gas main project is well underway and will take most of the summer and likely end sometime in the fall

State/Utility Project Work

• Route 20 Milling and Resurfacing Project – MassDOT has been made aware of some puddle issues.  MassDOT is also setting the schedule for milling and overlay work on Route 20 from School Street to I-95 Interchange;
• Route 30 (South Avenue) and Wellesley Street Signal Improvement Project - the work to move the overhead utility lines to new poles has continued.  Removal of existing utility poles is anticipated over the next several weeks; 
• National Grid’s gas relay projects on Merriam Street is underway.  Anticipate gas main replacement work on Locust Road to start the beginning of July.  The Viles Street gas main replacement and services project is completed

Ongoing Projects

• Black Oak Pump Station Project ongoing – Engineering for generator move and final landscaping and screening is underway.  The Town Engineer will conduct an outreach to abutters prior to advertising work is completed;
• Overseeing consultants’ work on Cooks Pond Dam and Pump Rehabilitation Project. Anticipate readvertising the project in the fall;
• Overseeing consultants’ work on the Southside Drainage Project.  Attempting to secure the necessary easements for Phase 2 of the project. Once completed, the permitting will be conducted with construction anticipated for spring 2018;
• Paines Hill Water Tank Improvement Project.  Anticipate readvertising the project in the fall;
• The Board of Selectmen approved gas relay projects by National Grid for Summer Street, which is scheduled to occur this construction season (2017)

Consultant Work

• Overseeing consultants’ work on several sidewalk feasibility studies  – Feasibility plans available for viewing online.  
  • Warren Avenue Sidewalk Project - reached out to two abutters of the project for required easements 
  • Merriam Street Sidewalk Project - several easement issues remain and the project has gone before the Conservation Commission  
  • Highland Street Sidewalk Project is on hold.  The Traffic & Sidewalk Committee has conducted abutter outreach;
  • Ash Street Sidewalk Project - Overseeing consultants’ work on concept plan. Abutter outreach by the Traffic & Sidewalk Committee needs to be conducted;
• Overseeing consultant’s work on the modification of the Boston Post Road / Wellesley Street intersection study and the Boston Post Road / School Street intersection study.  Anticipate submitting project to the State as a TIP project;
• Overseeing consultant design work for drainage work for construction season 2016 (Newton Street, Merriam Street, and Fairview/Montvale  Road area).  Continue to attempt to secure required easements on Newton Street.  Continued to work on design at Fairview and Montvale Road area;
• Overseeing consultant concept / design work for Town Center Project.  The survey is completed.  Drainage inspection ongoing.  The design contract has been executed and the burying of the utilities portion of the contract is being prepared by consultant 

Engineering

• Currently reviewing 16 Stormwater Permits;
• Currently issued 60 Stormwater permits which also requires construction inspection

Park and Cemetery Division

• Conducted 0 funeral service(s);
• Cutting at Cemeteries and Parks;
• Work continued on Cemetery Conservation contract at Farmers Burial Ground

Highway/Stormwater Division

• Patching various roads - Gun Club Lane and Concord Road;
• Cleanup roadside construction debris at Highland Street and Love Lane;
• Installed erosion control on Sudbury Road;
• Installed new gravel, regraded and compacted pull-off area at the Highland Street look out; 
• Clean sidewalk in new roadway surface area Highland Street;
• Hand-deliver construction notices to residences on Sudbury Road and first five houses on each side of the Wayland town line;
• Street sweeping on Pigeon Hill Road, Old Road, Hilltop Road, Gun Club Lane, and Concord Road from Lincoln town line to Sudbury Road;
• Mowing island and grass strips in south and north sections;
• Chip and remove tree debris on South Avenue, Country Drive, Wellesley Street, Glen Road, and Highland Street;
• Clean, service, and prep. mowing equipment for following weeks’ use;
• Oversee guardrail re-installation on North Avenue, from Church Street to Hobbs Brook;
• Oversee guardrail repairs on North Avenue, from north side between Church Street and Hobbs Brook; 
• Sign, mailbox, and fence repairs
