Meet Knox: Weston Police Department’s K-9 UnitWednesday, April 12, 10:00- 11:00 at the COACome meet the Weston Police K9 team, Officer Rizzitello and K9 Knox. Knox, named for Colonel Henry Knox and his "noble train of artillery" during the Revolutionary War, is a black German shepherd from Czechoslovakia and trained in the art of tracking. Officer Rizzitello will give an overview of the K9 Unit, including its creation, the training involved, and how K9 teams work in the field. Call the COA at 781-786-6280 to register.

Nature of SpringWednesday, April 12, 2:00-3:00 on Zoom Springtime in Massachusetts is filled with unique seasonal wonders and mysteries. What animals are making noises in the evenings and why? Who is migrating back or waking from their winter slumbers? What kind of wildflowers are popping up near the sidewalks and woodland trails? Patti Steinman, Mass Audubon Senior Teacher/ Naturalist at Arcadia and the Connecticut River Valley Wildlife Sanctuaries, will introduce the seasonal dynamics of nature in spring, and provide ideas and resources for observing, appreciating, and supporting wildlife near home during this season. Local and Global Discussion Group: Spring Town Meeting Thursday, April 13, 1:15-3:00 at the COAThe Local and Global Discussion Group will turn its collective attention from international topics to local ones in preparation for Weston’s spring town meeting on May 8. Weston resident Joel Angiolillo will lead the discussion on two of the Town’s issues: Weston’s water tanks and Weston’s wetlands. All who are interested in a civil discussion of the issues with a wide variety of participants are welcome to attend.
