Construction Update - March 15
With improving weather, more activity will be seen in the Town Center. The winter was spent cutting utilities over to underground service and making the connections.
The utility companies are finishing up those connections to the underground infrastructure. Once the connections are complete, the poles can come down, and final pavement can be installed. Target date is spring for all of this to be completed.
Eversource - all service connections are done. Following is the next order of work, anticipated to occur over the next several weeks:
- overhead lines to be removed - anticipated to occur in March
- pole bracing, after line removal
- removal of poles
Comcast – all service connections are done and overhead lines will be removed after Eversource
Verizon – Splicing is underway. Once completed, they will be scheduling cutover to the new backbone and terminating the old system and then removing it. Verizon anticipates being completed in March / April.
Town Fiber – completed
Landscaping - tree stakeout is anticipated to be reviewed week of March 15
Hardscaping - cobblestone work anticipated to begin week of March 15 at Walgreens and Cambridge Trust
Rules of a Four-way Stop
At a four-way stop, the right of way goes to the person who gets there first, and then in order to vehicles on the right. When turning left, you must give right of way to any vehicle approaching you.
Final Configuration
The final configuration will require the removal of the utility pole on Church Street, which will not occur until spring; however, the parallel parking on the Church Street bank between the Town Green and First Parish Church has been striped.
The longer right-hand only turn lane from Church Street that will accommodate six cars.
