Library browsing- no appointment necessary!

In an effort to make it easier for patrons to safely visit the Weston Public Library and to stay in compliance with local health orders, we have put in place a state-of-the-art system to monitor library occupancy. What does that mean for our patrons?

  • Patrons will no longer need to reserve an appointment to visit the library. Just pop by during our browsing times listed below.

Browsing hours:

Monday 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Tuesday 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Wednesday 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Thursday 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Browsing hours for patrons 60+  or with underlying health conditions:

  • As you walk in, you will see a monitor to your right. If the screen is green and shows a picture of a door, come on in! If the screen is red and has a stop sign, please wait until others leave before entering.
enter only if the screen is green, if the screen is red, pelase wait.
  • Once inside, please fill out a contact tracing slip.
  • Patrons must still limit their visit to 30 minutes or less, wear a mask covering their nose and mouth, and observe social distancing guidelines.
  • In order to accommodate as many families as possible, please limit the size of your party.

If you want to get an idea of how busy the library is right now or to check if you can come in before leaving your car, check out our real-time tracking tool.

Register for library programs without picking up the phone or opening up your email

If you haven't noticed, we're on a quest to make things easier for our patrons. We know that if you have to jump to another app to make a call or send an email to register for a program, there is a good chance that something more pressing might catch your eye, like a text message from your bestie or an email about a sale on those boots you've had your eye on since forever (no judgement, quality shoes don't go on special every day).

In the coming weeks, we will be making sure to include sign up links for all of our programs in the library calendar listing- just look for "Sign up now!" to the right of the event description. Want a preview and to sign up for some really fun upcoming virtual programs? Check these out:

Access your favorite digital magazines through Overdrive/Libby

Do you love reading The New Yorker, Reader's' Digest, National Geographic, or other digital magazines? Reading them each month is now easier than ever. RB Digital (formerly Zinio) has been acquired by Overdrive. So now you can access all of the content you enjoyed through RB Digital using the award-winning Libby app, the original Overdrive app, or website, just like you do for many eBooks or digital audiobooks.

If you are currently using the RB Digital app or website to read digital magazines, you will need to switch to using Libby or Overdrive before the end of March or risk missing an issue while it is hot off the virtual presses (although back issues are available in as well in Overdrive/Libby).
