Sidewalk Reconstruction SequencingThe following is the sequencing plan for the north side of Boston Post Road only. Two crews will be on site for this work. The sidewalk work for the south side of Boston Post Road is dependent upon on the status of the utility companies and the utility poles. That sequencing will be reassessed prior to that work. - Crew 1 begins by stripping the existing sidewalk, roughly 300-feet, and will install gravel ramps at driveways and walkways
- Crew 1 will install irrigation, lighting conduit and sleeves, and light-pole bases within the 300-foot work limit. When finished, they’ll lay rough-graded gravel and reinstall gravel ramps at driveways and walkways
- Crew 2 installs the curbing within the 300-foot work limit
- Crew 1 follows behind Crew 2 and fine-grades the sidewalk area within the 300-foot work limit
- Crew 2 follows behind the Crew 1 by pouring sidewalks within the 300-foot work limit
- As Crew 2 is finishing pouring the sidewalk with in these limits, Crew 1 will begin stripping the next 300-feet of walkway work limit
Notes:- Pedestrian access to homes and businesses will be maintained and coordinated with business/property owners
- Cones will be placed in roadway for pedestrian traffic where sidewalk is inaccessible
- Sidewalk closed signs will be placed at either end of inaccessible sidewalk. Signs will be placed at crosswalks ahead of inaccessible sidewalk to detour pedestrian traffic
- Police details will be on site to assist pedestrian traffic
- Area of curing concrete will be barreled and taped-off to access
- Residents and business owners will be notified with door hangers 48-hours in advance of their driveway being poured. Driveways will be inaccessible for 24-hours while concrete is pouring.
- Areas of special sidewalk paving will be temporarily paved. These areas will be permanently paved all at once when all the sidewalk work is complete.
Activity Duration - Strip sidewalk, install irrigation and lighting conduit sleeves and light pole bases (if applicable), place gravel and rough grade, 100-linear feet/day
- Install curbing 175-linear feet/day
