Tara Murphy, African dance and drum teacher and performer, will lead a creative, African-inspired dance and drum class. Tara began studying her heritage through African studies at Yale University and was awarded a Yale fellowship to study traditional dance and drumming at the University of Legon in Ghana, West Africa. Since returning to the US, she has studied with many African and Afro-Caribbean artists for over 25 years. Feel the beat and experience the power of dance and drumming to release stress, lift spirits, and connect with others. With chair dancing and then drumming, we will get in touch with our innate rhythms, and get energy flowing throughout the body. This program will be recorded.
