Grand Opening of the Pollination Preservation Garden at MCRT

Sunday, June 27, 2021

Join the Weston Plant Pollinator Alliance to celebrate our first public Pollination Preservation Garden as part of Native Plant-Native Pollinator Preservation Month! Meet members of the WPPA and learn how to make your own Pollination Preservation Garden at home. The 90 sq. ft. garden along the rail trail includes 15 native plant species based on the research of Dr. Robert Gegear, professor of biology at UMass Dartmouth, that target at-risk bumblebees, butterflies, and other bees. This event is co-sponsored by the Native Pollinator Task Force of the MetroWest Conservation Alliance (MCA) to inspire residents to increase biodiversity in their own backyards and public areas while connecting biodiverse habitat for at-risk pollinators across the 36 MCA communities.
