Travel to South Boston to visit Castle Island and Fort Independence, both of which are on the State and National Registers of Historic Places. Lace up your shoes and stroll the Harborwalk, relax and enjoy the views of the Boston Harbor Islands, bring a picnic or purchase lunch at Sullivan’s. Rain or shine. Cost: $10.
