The Town of Weston has one vacancy on the Traffic and Sidewalk Committee. The Committee is comprised of five at-large members who are appointed by the Select Board to serve for three-year terms and are assisted by the Town Engineer, the Police Chief, and the School Superintendent.
The Traffic and Sidewalk Committee makes periodic evaluations of and recommendations regarding roadway improvements and changes, traffic calming measures, signals, signage and lighting, sidewalks and crosswalks, maintenance priorities and standards, public transit options, and other measures that are considered to meet the evolving traffic conditions and bicycle/pedestrian safety needs of the Town. The Committee reports at least once annually to the Select Board on pending committee work, plans, and goals.
Residents with experience/training or interest in traffic management, pedestrian safety, roadway development, traffic mitigation, public transit, bicycling, or other related areas who would like to be considered should submit a volunteer application (download a PDF or submit online) or send a letter of interest with background information to selectboard@westonma.gov or by mail to the Select Board, P.O.
