Recreation Master Plan Steering Committee

The Town of Weston is seeking an individual to serve as a voting member on the Recreation Master Plan Steering Committee.

This Committee serves as a focal point for the recreational use and improvements to Town and School fields. Specifically, the Committee is charged with the following tasks:

  • Develop and maintain a 10-year Master Plan for the Town of Weston for the creation, use, and maintenance of fields and facilities to be used for recreational purposes
  • Oversee the implementation of the Master Plan, working with staff, including requests for funding and coordination with the School Committee and Select Board
  • Communicate the prioritized Master Plan schedule to the community, including potential funding sources and special interest groups

An updated Recreation Master Plan (PDF) was finished in 2020. In addition to maintaining this update, work on the Committee would also include:

  • representing the collective needs of the recreational user groups
  • providing a detailed, prioritized schedule for the creation, upgrade, maintenance, repurpose, and acquisition of all town and school recreational fields and facilities
  • updating the plan upon changing user group needs and/or funding of specific projects
