It's one of the world’s most well-known stamps. It can sell for up to $1 million and fewer than 100 exist worldwide. Issued on May 10, 1918, it is one of America’s first airmail stamps. A printing error, however, on one sheet of stamps caused the image of the plane (nicknamed the Jenny) to appear upside down. Stamp collectors know it as the “Inverted Jenny.” The Spellman Museum will display one of these philatelic rarities as it celebrates the 100th anniversary of the delivery of mail by airplanes in the U.S. The stamp is on loan from the American Philatelic Society in Pennsylvania and is part of the Museum’s exhibit about the history of the delivery of mail by aircraft. Other extremely rare stamps and envelopes from the Museum’s collection will also be on display.

Everyone is welcome to attend the monthly trail walk, hosted by Weston Forest & Trail Association. All walks start at 2:00 p.m., rain or shine, and last 1-2 hours. Walks are generally followed by socializing around a "tailgate" unless otherwise noted. When planning to go, be sure to check the WF&T website (below) in case there are any last-minute changes. Children and well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome. Be sure to wear appropriate clothing and shoes, especially in wet weather.
