June 8, 2017, 7:30 PM @ Spellman Museum of Stamps & Postal History
As the nation celebrates the centennial of President John F. Kennedy’s birth, the Spellman Museum of Stamps & Postal History honors our 35th president with an exhibit of stamps commemorating his life. To celebrate the opening of the exhibit, Jim Roberts, supervisory park ranger/chief of visitor services at the John Fitzgerald Kennedy National Historic Site in Brookline, will give a free talk on all the efforts both in the United States and countries worldwide that have taken to commemorate and memorialize JFK through postal stamps, cachets and other philatelic material over the past 50 years. Roberts’ talk will discuss many of the stamps in the exhibit and how they relate to Kennedy’s life plus he will outline the many activities happening all this year for the centennial anniversary.
The exhibit will run until September 30 and will allow children to make their own free collection of both Kennedy stamps and stamps that have honored all our past presidents.
