Board of Health

The Town of Weston has an opening on the Board of Health for a member to fill a vacancy due to a recent resignation.  As provided by state law, this vacancy is filled by a vote of the Board of Selectmen and remaining Board of Health members.  Candidates for this position should be willing to run for election in May 2018, for the balance of the vacated three-year term, which is valid through May 2019.

The Board is made up of three residents who meet once a month, more often if needed.   The Board of Health provides enforcement of the State Sanitary Code in the areas of housing, food sales and service, pools and camps.  It is responsible for the promotion and protection of public health; surveillance and reporting of communicable disease; and for the State Environmental Code regarding wells, septic systems, lead and asbestos abatement, and groundwater protection.  Weston residents with expertise in civil engineering or medical professionals are encouraged to apply for the opening.

Residents who would like to be considered should email a volunteer application (download and print or submit online) or a letter of interest with background information and qualifications to or by mail to the Town of Weston, Office of Selectmen, P. O. Box 378, Weston, MA  02493 by January 31st.  Applicants must be a registered voter of Weston.
